A man is suing the pharmaceutical giant Pfizer for $100 million after he says his health was seriously affected by the drug he was prescribed.
The man, who was prescribed copd, says he was diagnosed with a rare form of cancer, which he has since tested positive for, in December.
In January, the man was admitted to the hospital for two weeks because of a serious chest infection, he said in court papers.
In June, his health returned to normal.
Pfizer said in a statement to CNN that the lawsuit was false and untrue and that the company has “no information that any patient is currently receiving copd.”
A Pfizer spokeswoman said that while the company is not responsible for the patient’s health, “We are committed to making quality medicine available to our patients across the country.”
