Italy’s Giacomo Becchetti: ‘We’ve got to make sure there are no injuries’

Coach Beccatha is convinced that the club will be in the European Championship in 2018 and will be playing against some of the best teams in the world in the final.

The former AC Milan manager believes the only way the club is going to qualify for the tournament is if it is in good form and it will be a tough group to handle.

“We’ve had to adapt a lot and we’ve lost two of our top players in the last few days,” Becca told Gazzetta dello Sport.

Becca was at the centre of a major controversy during the 2014/15 season when he left the team in the midst of the Italian season with a hip injury.

He returned a few months later but suffered a thigh injury before returning to the starting line-up in February 2016.

Now, he is looking forward to playing with a new team again, but admits that it will not be easy to get back into the starting eleven.

“[I’m] happy to be back but the club has a lot of work to do,” he added.

With two games left, the two teams will face each other at San Siro in the second leg of the semi-finals on Saturday (15:00 GMT).
